Wills

You may or may not have previously made a Will, but you should certainly consider with Martin Bullock Lawyers whether a Will needs to be made or to be amended to express accurately what you wish to provide.  Remember that a Will is revoked by a marriage, but not by a separation and it may be important to make changes to provide as you would wish, particularly if you have children.  In the event you have been divorced, that divorce will have the effect of "cancelling" any gift you have made to your former spouse, but otherwise the Will is valid.  This too can lead to a situation that you would not have wanted and it is therefore vital to consider this very important aspect at an early time.

It is necessary to consider whether your nominated beneficiaries for superannuation policies and life insurance policies reflects your current intentions and attend to that as necessary.  In some families superannuation is one of the biggest "assets" and it is not covered by the provisions in a Will.
